For a lovely walk, go down to Washburn and take the lake trail there. County: Sawyer. Ashwabay. From the bike shop, probably 10-15 minute walk to the ferry area. The Chequamegon Bay region is among the top birding destinations in the Midwest, with an amazing variety of high-quality habitats and opportunities to see hundreds of bird species. Eventually bailed and headed over to the Gil Larsen Nature/Iron Bridge/Big Ravine trails on other end of town and they were wonderful! The town of Bayfield, Colorado is about a 25 minute drive and Durango is about a 35 minute drive through the beautiful, picturesque Florida River Valley.
